REGULATIONS

of the open international chess tournament "Belye Nochi" (the White Nights), St. Petersburg,
July 1 (arrival day) - July 10, 2002, Swiss open tournament, 9 rounds.

July 2 15.00 Opening ceremony and round 1
July 10 11.00 - the last round , 19.00 Close ceremony

Time rate: 2 hours / 40 moves + 1 hour to finish.

CONDITIONS FOR PARTICIPANTS:

Grandmasters ELO 2600 and higher: board and lodging (single room) at the expense of the St.Petersburg Chess Federation.
Grandmasters ELO 2575 and higher: board and lodging (double room) at the expense of the St.Petersburg Chess Federation.
Grandmasters ELO less than 2575: board at the expense of the St.Petersburg Chess Federation.
International masters:
ElO 2500 and higher free
2450-2499 start fee 10$
2400-2449 start fee 20$
2350-2399 start fee 30$
2300-2349 start fee 40$
less than 2300 start fee 50$
Players without IM title:
ElO 2500 and higher start fee 10$

A 50% discount is allowed for women, veterans (over 60 y. o.) and juniors (under 18 y. o.), excepting non rated players. Discounts are allowed for players from ISU states only.
Fees can be transferred in roubles in accordance with the Central Bank USD rate for the payment day to the account of the St.Petersburg Chess Federation:

PRIZE FUNDof the tournament is set as 125,000 rbl.:

1st place - 30000
2nd place - 20,000
3rd place - 15,000
4th place - 12,000
5th place - 10,000
7th - 10th places - 4,000 each
11th - 15th - 2 000 each
16-216th - 20th places - 1 000 each

If two or more players share places, then the sum of prizes should be divided in equal parts.

Accommodation is guaranteed for those players who will confirm their participation before June 15, 2002.
